In Chrisso Fokidas, a historical village characterized as a traditional settlement at the foot of Parnassos, one of the most complete, most valuable and most impressive collections of traditional costumes in Greece is housed in Ethnological and Folklore Museum of Chrisso “Ilias Daradimos Collection”.

The collection of the Ethnological and Folklore Museum of Chrisso is the result of a constant and persistant effort of the last fifty years by the collector Mr. Elias Daradimos and continues today to be enriched with valuable, interesting and rare objects of folk cultural heritage.

Το Διδακτήριο του Χρισσού κατά πάσα πιθανότητα θεμελιώθηκε την δεκαετία του 1890 και ήταν ένα ακόμη νεοκλασσικό κτίριο που ακολούθησε τη μορφή των πρώτων σχολείων που κατασκευάστηκαν από τον Καποδίστρια (1830 – 1840).

    and discover a priceless collection of our ethnological and folklore heritage.

    The collection consists of traditional Greek costumes unique in variety, quality and use of stitching, colour schemes and originality of designs,

    dating from the pre-revolutionary, revolutionary, Ottonian period, until 1920. The collection is complemented with rare prints from the area of Fokida, paintings, philhellenic collectibles, ceramic items, copper tableware, furniture, photographs, historic documents, traditional jewellery, and embroideries and weapons from the 1821 Revolution.
